It’s Ski Season!

Winter has arrived! We’re all waking up to a winter wonderland and putting on our most warm jackets to start off our day. The question is, are you ready for ski season? We’ve finished the holidays and it’s ready to get back in shape! Building up your endurance is key to being prepared for skiing. Cardio endurance in particular! To build up your endurance your cardio program should include 3-5 days each week of your favorite activity. (The best for skiing include running, stair master, step aerobics, elliptical trainer and rollerblading) A variety of workouts at varying intensities lasting from 20-45 minutes and the last option is one long, slow workout each week for 60 or more minutes. These will condition your legs and lungs for long days of skiing. Building your strength is the next step to keeping up with your endurance. Be sure to keep your quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, inner and outer thighs, calves, abs and back and last but not least your arms strengthened! This will help you from fatiguing during those long ski days! It’s important to get in shape for the season to help prevent any sort of injuries.
