Stress? Seek Chiropractic!

In our day to day lives, stress has manifested itself in almost every form, whether it be in our careers, school, traffic, or even the weather. Our bodies are typically bombarded by stress factors.

In a study performed by the American Institute of Stress and the American Psychological Association, their findings showed that 77% of people in the U.S. experience physical symptoms induced by stress regularly, while 73% of people experience the psychological symptoms of stress regularly. This study also indicated that the most common stressors in our day to day lives are our careers, finances, health, relationships, nutrition, media, and lack of sleep.

Our fight or flight response is activated when we experience accumulated amounts of stress over long periods time. When that response comes into action, it puts a significant strain on most every part of the body. This could cause  high blood pressure, damage to muscle tissue, diabetes, infertility, and damage to the immune system.

Though the factors leading to stress may seem common, overexposure to any form of stress over a long period of time can be detrimental to our health in a multitude of ways. Luckily, Chiropractic care can help reduce the impact of stress and can even act as a preventative measure against it, giving us resources that we can use when we are feeling overwhelmed by stress. Adjustments can aid in decreasing our stress levels and maintaining a more balanced lifestyle.
